Job Summary
AECOM has a position available for a Decommissioning & Closure Lead
(Environmental Services) to be preferably based in our Calgary- AB office. In
this role the Lead will focus on leveraging our extensive global contracts
more fully into the Canadian market- as well as developing underserved
midstream and Canadian O&G clients. This is an attractive career opportunity

considered for this role include Vancouver or Edmonton but will involv
extensive travel to the Calgary area .
In this role you will work for the Regional Practice Lead for Canada. You wil
provide leadership and lead teams to define capture strategies and direct the
most important pursuits- especially for key accounts and major projects. You
will have the opportunity to grow the practice and your career as far as you
would like in this exciting role and growing company.
The candidate will be able to build the business from AECOM`s large foundation
of MSA work for major O&G clients by both increasing our market share in
current focus areas (i.e.- remediation and restoration) as well as
diversifying the services provided to these clients (e.g.- impact assessment-
EHS compliance- information management systems- etc.).
The candidate will also be expected to further develop our midstream business
and to lead the development and management of Canadian O&G company accounts
for environmental- engineering and construction business wherever these
companies operate in the world.
The responsibilities of this position include- but may not be limited to the
following:
Assist in the development and implementation of a strategic business/action plan.
Expand the Western Canada client base in the O&G market.
Identify and develop new opportunities- prepare effective technical proposals- and take an active leadership role in developing new business with new and existing clients.
Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business.
Coach local seller-doers in the development of client strategies- and track their implementation
Serve as senior resource for marketing- project implementation- and related activities.
Achieve client`s expectations for scope- budget- schedule- and quality.
Provide mentoring and coaching to seller-doer
Lead capture strategies for key pursuits and major projects within the market and ensure those strategies yield high capture rates
Draw upon technical expertise within the technical practice network to coordinate market specific technical solutions to existing and emerging needs
Support the proper staffing of key positions within the regional team
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor`s Degree in engineering- geology or related discipline
12+ years of related environmental consulting experience that must include a minimum of 4 years in a leadership role
Ability to obtain professional licensure within 3 months of hire date; if not already licensed as such (engineering- geology- agrology- etc.)
Experience should also include 5 years in a business development / client management role in the Alberta Oil & Gas Market
Demonstrated client facing experience
Demonstrated knowledge of the Canadian Oil & Gas Market and key players
Midstream project experience and working knowledge of National Energy Board (NEB) requirements
Good understanding of environmental services business
Ability to understand client organizational structures and procurement processes
Proven track record in developing and implementing successful business growth strategies.
Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients- and drive sales.
Strong communication- collaboration and team building skills
Agile response to fast paced work environment and organizational change
Preferred Qualifications
Professional registration highly desired (engineer- geology- agrology- etc.)
