Job Summary
AECOM`s Environment Business Line is currently seeking a Geotechnical
Laboratory Supervisor to join our team of professionals in our Mississauga- ON
office.
The responsibilities of this position include- but are not limited to:
Provide assistance to the Geotechnical Laboratory Manager in daily laboratory
work.
Co-ordinate field activities and inspections.
Oversee work of junior-level technicians..
Support AECOM|s Canadian Radiation Safety Officer in administering th

radiation safety program in Ontario.

Manage site inspections and field investigations involving soil and roc

drilling- monitoring well installations- borehole instrumentation- soil and
groundwater sampling- pump testing- and geotechnical testing

Communicate with the Project Team on work progress- health and safety
management- schedule- and costs

Carry out soil and aggregate material testing in a CCIL certified laboratory

Provide support in interpretation of field investigations- geotechnical
testing results

Work with the team on projects in the GTA- and collaborate on projects across
Ontario

General understanding of procedures- company policies to achieve set results
and deadlines. Viewed as competent in all areas.

Manage the day to day operations of nuclear densometer gauges including
shipping document preparation- verifying training records- conducting audits
of the storage location- releasing gauges to authorized users and user shot
count inventory

Declare Nuclear Energy Workers- if necessary

Conduct and coordinate in field audits of gauge users and achieve necessary
corrective action in a timely manner

Ensure the safety program in Ontario complies with legislative requirements
and AECOM`s radiation safety program

Driving compliance and accountability to the program with authorized gauge
users

Deliver annual radiation safety program refresher to authorized users

Orientate new gauge users by performing practical demonstration with gauges

Minimum Requirements

HS + 6 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

Ability to manage time effectively

Willingness to work flexible hours under a variety of conditions

Ability to perform varied and complex administrative duties requiring
independent judgment and the application of policies and procedures

Must have valid RSO and TDG training (or acquire the certifications)

Must possess a valid class G driver`s license

Access to a personal vehicle- mileage to be reimbursed

Preferred Qualifications

Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent preferred.

5+ years of geotechnical laboratory/field experience preferred

CET license preferred

Having a Professional Engineer license(from Professional Engineers Ontario) is
an asset

Experience as RSO for portable gauges for a large organization is an asset
