Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Biologist/Ecologist
for employment in the Burnaby Office. AECOM is pleased to include you in a
unique development opportunity- the Graduate Development Program (GDP). This
program is designed to support your assimilation into the organization and
assist with creating a foundation of knowledge for a successful career at
AECOM. You will gain experience in your discipline through learning on the job
and participate in development opportunities during the program- including
access to AECOM|s social media resources- group mentoring- and professional
networking. The program also has learning activities that will be available t

The responsibilities of this position include- but are not limited to:
Utilize basic scientific principles- theories- practices and existing technologies to develop solutions for technical problems with limited scope
Collect and enter data- and apply technical principles and theories
Interpret and record data- conduct analyses- compare findings to relevant studies and local- state and federal regulations to ensure compliance
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualifications
Post-secondary degree or diploma in environmental science- biology or a related field from a recognized University or College or equivalent
Knowledge of ecological principles and local systems
Knowledge of aquatic- terrestrial- avian- reptile or bat ecology- identification- and impact assessments- and implementation of field protocols
Knowledge of state and federal ecological regulatory framework
Highly motivated and accountable
Enjoy working outdoors
Be an effective communicator
Ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently
Ability to work in a field environment
Adherence to and enforcement of AECOM`s Health and Safety Protocols
Master`s degree (optional)
Experience with biological field sampling
Experience with air photo interpretation (hard/soft copy)- Global Positioning Systems- and map and compass orientation
Wilderness First Aid (optional) and/or wilderness experience
Valid driver`s license
Valid Standard First Aid + CPR
