Responsible for the cleaning and storage of all China- glass and silver as well as all cooking pots and small wares.
Cleaning of all cooking equipment and assist the Kitchen and Banquets to ensure all events run smoothly.

Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Chief Steward- responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

In this position- the majority of the shifts will require to be in the evening
.
Ensure safe cleaning of all kitchen appliances
Ensure thorough understanding of how to dismantle- clean and reassemble all equipmen
.
Ensure thorough working knowledge of all storage areas for China- Glass- Silver and all cooking equipment
.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment- use the |clean as you go| and ensure any broken glass- china and spills are handled immediately
.
Maintain current knowledge of W.H.M.I.S/M.S.D.S
.
Rotate within your workspace to ensure fair workload for Stewards
.
Maintain an open and constructive communication with all staff and supervisors
.
Review daily Job Task List for proper cleaning procedures of kitchen equipment
.
Actively participate in the Fairmont Pacific Rim`s environmental program and department specific initiatives in working towards sustainable operations
.
To be Health & Safety conscious and actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment
.
Complies with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts policies- procedures and code of ethics
.
Performs any and all other tasks which are assigned by management
.
Upholds the highest standard of internal and external customer service at all times
Qualifications:• Previous Janitorial Experience is an asset• Previous hotel work experience is an asset• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities• Highly responsible & reliable• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team• Ability to focus attention on guest needs- remaining calm and courteous at all times
Physical Aspects of Position:
Physical aspects of the position include but are not limited to the following:
• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs
• Occasional kneeling- pushing- pulling
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders- stairs and ramps
