Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Construction Administrator for
employment in Ottawa- ON. The appropriately qualified candidate shall provide
professional construction services on linear infrastructure programs in
Eastern Ontario. The Construction Administrator will act as client`s
representative in the field interacting with client (end user)- contractor and
other external parties.
The responsibilities of this position include- but are not limited to:
Oversees field site activities and provides technical advice on construction and design
Using advanced knowledge in engineering principles- responds to Requests for Information (RFIs) from contractor by interpreting plans and specifications

Discusses deviations from specified construction materials and procedures with engineer of record or supervisor

Determines requirements for workarounds and remedial corrective actions

Regularly reviews engineering plans- specifications and reviews and approves contract submittals and payment applications to contractors

Leads on-site inspectors who observe work in progress and document conformance to quality- performance- safety and code requirements and maintains inspection records

Conducts regular project review sessions with appropriate personnel to monitor the continuing progress of the project

Examines workmanship of finished installations for standard conformity and approves installation

Completes contract close-out processes

Implements and follows project and company safety procedures

Leads AECOM staff in delivery of project tasks to the client

Ability to chair meetings and address Contractor issues

Minimum Requirements

Relevant Bachelor|s Degree or equivalent expeirience

6+ years of experience in the linear infrastructure (road- storm- water- sewer) construction inspection and contract administration

Proven team management skills with capability to work with a wide variety of individuals- and have the skills and abilities necessary to lead engineers- designers- and technical and support staff

Excellent communication skills including verbal and written

Knowledge in document control- record keeping and construction administration

Keen understanding of Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications- special provisions and payment methods

Must possess a valid driver`s license and must have transportation to and from the project site

Preferred Qualifications

Engineering Degree or higher (P. Eng)

Experience with the City of Ottawa Vision system

10+ years of experience in the linear infrastructure construction inspection and contract administration
