AECOM Senior Environmental Planner in Mississauga- Ontario

Job Summary
As part of our team- the successful applicant will:
Work with and support project managers in carrying out Environmental Assessments and other approvals and permitting activities for transit and transportation projects.
Develop and implement consultation programs- including municipal- regulatory agency and Indigenous Communities engagement.
Coordinate- organize- prepare for- attend- and document project meetings.
Coordinate environmental specialists (i.e.- fisheries- terrestrial- noise- air- archaeology- etc.).
Liaise with local- Provincial- and Federal agencies regarding permits and approvals.
Be familiar with Fisheries Act- Endangered Species Act- Navigation Protection Act- Environmental Protection Act and other relevant legislation.
Collaborate with technical and professional staff across the company in completing assignments.
Research- conceptualize- plan- and write drafts of reports related to planning- design and permitting.
Liaise with clients by phone- email- and writing.
Participate in study administration- through budgeting- invoicing- and staff management.
Support business development efforts- including proposal writing and participation in industry associations.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum Requirements :
BA/BS + 8 YORE or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Bachelor`s Degree in Environmental Management/Planning- Environmental Science- Environmental Studies- Urban and Regional Planning or related field.
Extensive experience with the Ontario Environmental Assessment (EA) Act- the Canadian Environmental Assessment Act (CEAA)- Class EA for Provincial Transportation Facilities- Municipal Class EA Environmental- Metrolinx Transit Project Assessment Process (TPAP) and other legislation related to the position (e.g. Fisheries Act- Endangered Species Act- Navigation Protection Act- Environmental Protection Act).
Knowledge of other relevant Ontario Legislation and Provincial Policy (i.e.- the Planning Act- the Greenbelt Act- etc.).
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Demonstrated experience managing schedule- budget and quality on projects.
Strong problem solving skills and ability to work well with people.
Ability to plan and prioritize and assign workload to manage multiple assignments at one time.
Class G driver`s license.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications :
Full or Provisional membership in a professional body (e.g. Registered Professional Planner (RPP and MCIP); Canadian Environmental Professional (EP); or Project Management Professional (PMP).
Demonstrated experience working on municipal- transit and transportation projects in Ontario.
Bilingual (English and French) an asset.
