Job Summary
Our Transportation Group in Calgary is seeking a Project Engineer for major
complex multi-disciplinary transportation projects. The successful candidate
will have demonstrated experience leading design development on medium sized
transportation projects- coordinating an interdisciplinary design team and
interacting with the client.

Our Transportation Group in Calgary is seeking a Project Engineer for major
complex multi-disciplinary transportation projects. The successful candidate
will have demonstrated experience leading design development on medium size
transportation projects- coordinating an interdisciplinary design team an
interacting with the client.
The responsibilities of this position include- but are not limited to:
Using Civil3D to develop roadways- highways- intersections- transit- utilities and other transportation project designs and 3D design models
Develop project specific design criteria and verify that applicable codes and engineering standard practices are being met
Develop roadway/highway/interchange design independently or with minimal supervision.
Ensure that quality project designs are completed on time and on budget through implementation of quality reviews
Efficiently work as part of a multi-disciplinary team
Independently evaluating- selecting- and applying standard engineering techniques- procedures and criteria and using judgement in making adaptations and modifications
Develop reports- plans- specifications and cost estimates
Minimum Requirements
Engineering degree from a recognized post-secondary institution or equivalent experience
A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience designing transportation infrastructure
Comprehensive understanding of Canadian transportation design standards and strong proficiency in roadway design
Experience designing multi-disciplinary transportation projects
Experience working with major contractors- public agencies- and municipalities (i.e. Cities- Alberta Transportation- Parks Canada or similar)
Strong analytical- verbal and written communication skills
Familiarity with stormwater/utility design- erosion and sediment control design
Preferred Qualifications
Experience includes transportation project related construction administration
Experience with Alberta Transportation- City of Calgary- British Columbia Ministry of Transportation
Registered with either APEGA or ASET and able to authenticate design drawings and reports in Alberta (ie: P.Eng. or P.Tech. designation)
Must possess a valid driver|s license
