Reporting to the Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineer- the HVAC
Utility 1 Shift Engineer will be responsible
for the preventative maintenance- servicing- installation and repair of the hotel physical plant- mechanical facilities/equipment and associated properties.

Summary of Responsibilities: Reporting to the Chief Engineer and Assistant Chief Engineer- responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
Service and repair duties of all public and guest areas as relates to all HVAC systems.
Participate in the Fairmont Chateau Whistler`s environmental program and department specific initiatives in working towards sustainable operations

Effectively manage time- productivity and workload

Be Health & Safety conscious and actively involved in maintaining a safe work environment while following all company- hotel- department and Work Safe BC safety practices and regulations

Ensure that all mechanical rooms exceed cleanliness standards while complying with OH&S Regulations and related Provincial Codes

Work in accordance with all standard BC Safety Authority practices- codes and regulations.
Appropriate use of all hotel testing and repair tools and equipment.
Assist in projects and other related duties in conjunction with outside contractors.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Attend job training and other related activities.
Consistently offers professional- engaging and friendly service.
Qualifications :

4th Class Power Engineer or 5th Class Power Engineer designation is preferred.
Other trade certificate(s) such as Refrigeration (TQ)- Electrical (TQ) or |B| Level Gas Ticket would be an asset.
Pool water chemistry knowledge is required.
Pool Operators Certificate would be an asset.
Knowledge of computerized energy management systems (DDC) is preferred.
3 years HVAC (Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning) and Refrigeration experience is preferred.
Must have basic computer and word processing skills.
Experience with CMMS or work order system would be an asset
Must be physically fit- able to lift heavy loads and work from heights.
Must be a self-starter and motivator.
Must have strong organizational and time management skills.
Must be team oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Previous hotel and or guest service experience would be an asset.
Must have an eye for detail; be organized and able to follow a strict set of Standard Operating ProceduresPrevious experience is an asset.
Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to ):

Constant standing and walking throughout shift
Frequent lifting- pulling- pushing over 25 lbs.
