AECOM Entry Level Environmental Planner/Assessment in Mississauga-

Job Summary
AECOM is seeking an energetic- self-motivated new graduate Environmental
Planner to join our Environmental Impact Assessment and Permitting Team in
Markham- Ontario. This is a permanent full-time position. The preferred
candidate should have experience in project coordination and administration-
especially for projects related to environmental sciences and socio-economic
disciplines.

Responsibilities may include:
Supports environmental assessments and other environmental approvals and
permitting activities for rail and transit projects and works with technical
specialists/sub-consultants to deliver the project
Supports the team in liaising with clients- regulatory agencies and project stakeholders- attends meetings- and supports the preparation of meeting materials
Delivers high quality products on schedule and within budget- and assists in tracking resources according to schedule and budget
Contributes to writing environmental assessments- and other environmental documents related to planning- design and permitting
Assists in coordinating consultation programs- including public- stakeholder- regulatory agency and Indigenous engagement
Contributes to business development
Supports the project compliance with Safety- Health and Environmental
requirements and coordination of AECOM`s quality control program.
Minimum Requirements
BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Must possess a valid class G driver`s license and vehicle.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical or bachelor`s degree in environmental planning- Environmental Science- Environmental Studies- Planning or related field.
Familiarity with the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act- Fisheries Act- Endangered Species Act- Environmental Protection Act and other relevant Ontario legislation and Provincial Policy
Experience working for environmental or engineering consulting companies- in either co-op work terms or as summer jobs
Strong analytical- planning- organizational- problem solving and time management skills.
Good interpersonal communication skills- as this role requires continuous interaction with team leaders and client`s management.
Strong knowledge of project management concepts and processes.
Experienced user of MS Project- Excel and SharePoint. Experience with Primavera not required but is an asset.
Ability to express ideas logically- clearly and concisely.
Ability to function effectively as part of a team.
Ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality.
Ability to understand and follow directions.
Ability to work in both field and office environments.
