Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Civil Designer/EIT
for employment in the Mississauga office with a focus on rail track design-
project coordination- transit planning and structural engineering.

Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer- the responsibilities
of this position include- but are not limited to Transportation:

Design of track alignments and special trackwork

Design of grading and drainage for tracks

Design of utility protection and relocation

Design of roads and parking lots

Construction staging design

Undertake concept- preliminary- and detailed designs

Support studies and environmental assessments.

Prepare drawings

Prepare quantity take-offs

Prepare designs and drawings using CADD

Evaluate technical alternatives- resolve technical issues and interface with other disciplines

Review own work for technical accuracy- standard engineering practices

Prepare cost estimates- schedules- and specifications

Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques- procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks. Assignments are designed to further develop judgment and understanding of professional and ethical responsibilities.

Project coordination between leads- clients and technical staff

Work on a wide range of projects and tasks and assist with field research- data collection- data analysis- graphics- maps and data presentation- and report development

Demonstrated ability to build trusting working relationships with clients and colleagues

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor`s degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in transportation engineering or other related field

Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as of Land Desktop/AutoCAD- InRoads- InSite- and MicroStation)

Capable of using spreadsheet- word processing and standard office software

Willingness and ability to learn industry standard software pertinent to the position

Ability to prepare meeting notes and undertake overall coordination with other disciplines
