AECOM Welder Journeyman in Bonnyville- Alberta
Canada – Alberta- Bonnyville
AECOM is seeking a Welder Journeyman to join our project team located at our
Bonnyville Fabrication Shop in Bonnyville- Alberta. This is a full-time
position on a 5 days on- 2 days off schedule.
There is NO LOA and/or Travel Allowance.
Welders join or sever metals in beams- girders- vessels- piping and other
metal components- make metal parts used in construction and manufacturing
plants- and weld parts- tools- machines and equipment. Welders develop
patterns for projects or follow directions given in layouts- blueprints and
work orders- clean- check for defects and shape component parts- sometime
using a cutting torch and weld parts together.
Be skillful in the fusing of metals using prescribed welding applications
Have a working knowledge of the welding equipment involved with the various welding procedures
Comprehend drawings and develop layout patterns for projects and calculate quantities of materials
Have a thorough knowledge of metals- arc electrodes- welding gases and gas welding filler rods
Recognize defective welds; know the cause and proper procedure for the repair of the defective area
Have a working knowledge of mathematics calculations pertaining to the welding trade
Have a working knowledge of the required codes
Be familiar with the work of other trades people in affiliated trades
Perform assigned tasks in accordance with quality and production standards required by industry
Have a valid CWB in the process|s being used
Have a valid B-pressure ticket in the processes being used if required
Conditions of Employment for this position are:
1. For positions that fall into the list of required positions within the AECOM Oil & Gas Background Check policy- qualified applicants who are offered- and accept- the role must complete a satisfactory pre-employment Background Check. This may consist of all or a combination of the following: Canadian Criminal Record check- an Employment Verification and/or an Education and Accreditation Verification.
2. Qualified applicants who are offered- and accept- a position must provide evidence of a satisfactory Alcohol & Drug test in accordance with the Company|s Alcohol & Drug Policy. In order to be valid- the test must have been conducted at the direction of AECOM – O&G Business Unit.
Journeyman Certification and/or Interprovincial Red Seal
CSTS (Construction Safety Training Systems) or PST (Petroleum Safety Training)
CSE (Confined Space Entry)
AWP – Aerial work platform
Red Seal preferred or required by provincial regulations and standards.
B-Pressure and CWB Tickets
Good at interpretation of pipe isometrics.
Previous pipe fabrication experience is an asset.
Overhead crane ticket is an asset.
