Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, the Human Resources Coordinator will be responsible to work collaboratively with the Corporate HR team to carry out HR projects and initiatives while providing human resources support to the Calgary office.
Participate in the full cycle recruiting process, ensuring the hiring process complies with Clark Builders’ policies and procedures, best practices and Employment Standards;
Applicant tracking system management (iCIMS)
Post job openings internally and externally;
Review, sort and shortlist resumes received;
Perform prescreen calls and reference checks for potential candidates and provide further recommendations to hiring managers;
Arrange, coordinate and conduct interviews to ensure positions are filled in a timely and efficient manner;
Offer letter creation;
Manage on-boarding and orientation of new employees ensuring coordination with multiple departments;
Support Corporate Human Resources with the Administration of benefit and RRSP programs
Provide coaching and assistance to managers regarding retention, performance management, and discipline for staff employees.
Provide support to Corporate Human Resources with absence management (disability leave, paternal leave, unpaid holiday) for staff employees.
Support facilitation and administration of terminations of staff employees
Identify potential employee relations issues, conflict resolution
Oversee HR activities to ensure all are in accordance with human resources policies and in compliance with Federal and Provincial employment and labor laws, acceptable practices and regulations.
Participate in college recruiting efforts which includes organizing and attending Career Fairs to attract top talent and foster relationships with educational institutions across Canada;
Event planning as required;
Provide general administrative support such as: creation of paper and electronic employee files, job descriptions, assignment letters, termination letters, employment verification letters, financial tracking, and filing;
Provide ongoing support and guidance with transactional Workday activities relating to Employees and Workday system management.
Support Edmonton Corporate Human Resources initiatives & project work which may include but not limited to: Best Employer Canada survey, Succession & Progression, Performance Management;
Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Skills & Knowledge:
Service orientated, self-starter, solutions focused and ability to adapt to changing needs;
Comfortable working independent or part of a team on projects and initiatives;
Strong communication and writing skills;
Ability to build strategic relationships with management and employees;
Proven ability to deal appropriately with confidential information and sensitive issues;
Above average skills in MS Office Suite including Outlook, Word and Excel
Proficient use of Workday
Strong understanding of Human Resources legislation and best practices;
Ability to multitask and make appropriate decisions under pressure while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality;
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Qualifications & Experience:
Degree or diploma in human resources or educational equivalent;
4+ years of progressive Human Resources experience in commercial or industrial construction;
RPR designation considered an asset;
Previous experience with Workday an asset
Exposure or understanding of principles of lean thinking
Experience with coaching teams in collaborative planning
Experience with continuous improvement
