The responsibilities of this position include- but are not limited to:

Prepare detailed analysis reports as required by Clients to evaluate major claims submitted by the Contractors

Prepares and updates detailed schedules for design and engineering projects- including activities for all site investigation- design phases and document submissions.

Participates in the preparation of the various bids and proposals- by providing time schedules that reflects the timing and sequence of the scope of work stipulated in the RFP.

Participates with various clients in determining the optimum construction durations by Preparing different constructability schedules scenarios and associated presentations.

Reviews- comments and approves the contractors and sub-consultants Baseline schedules.

Monitors- reviews and comments the progress schedule updates submitted by the contractors and the sub-consultants.

Prepares and submits weekly- monthly and quarterly reports.

As needed- prepares and submits short term and look-ahead schedules in various formats that meet the clients and project stakeholder`s requirements.

Reviews sub-consultants invoices and insure that items coding is matching the project cost breakdown and coding structure.

Submits- updates- controls and follow-up on the project staffing list and work sheets to insure that the project staffs are approved by the client and the billing process is not hindered.

Prepares and submits monthly project invoices that include both the sub-consultants and the direct manpower cost for the clients review and approval.

Prepares internal and external cost reports.

Implements and follows the Quality Assurance Program procedures

Job Summary
AECOM is seeking an energetic- self-motivated project support person to join
our environmental project team. This is a permanent full time position. The
preferred candidate should have experience in project coordination and
administration- especially for projects related to environmental sciences and
socio- economics disciplines. This position will report to the Impact
Assessment and Permitting Lead and it is based in Burnaby- BC.
Key Responsibilities will include- but are not limited to:
Assist project managers and technical discipline leads in the overall project management of large environmental assessment- permitting and other environmental projects from start to finish.
Assist project managers in the planning- coordination and logistic of project activities- including field work and professional and public consultation workshops. This position is mainly office based- but support field work may be required.

Facilitate meetings with clients and environmental regulatory agencies- including tracking of meeting minutes and reports.

Evaluate tasks progress against project schedule and budget. Evaluate project performance and identify areas of concern.

Track key project performance indicators. Develop reports to clients- including but not limited to progress and financial reports.

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

Technical or Bachelor Degree in related areas; Planning- Environmental studies– Environment and Recreation or related field

Strong analytical- planning- organizational- problem solving and time management skills;

Good interpersonal communication skills- as this role requires continuous interaction with team leaders and client`s management;

Strong knowledge of project management concepts and processes;

Experienced user of MS Project- Excel and SharePoint. Experience with Primavera not required but is an asset;

Carry out covermeter surveys to determine concrete clear cover on new reinforcing steel on bridge decks and barrier walls- and calculate applicable pay factors

Carry out determination of waterproofing membrane thickness- consistency of thickness by standard deviation and calculate applicable pay factors

Inspect asphalt paving operations- verify mix temperature- paver`s speed- rate of distribution- combination and type of compaction equipment- rolling pattern; identify defective workmanship (such as segregation- roller mark- poor joints etc.) and direct contractor to rectify- as necessary

Review contractor`s baseline project schedule for approval (using Primavera P6- SureTrak or Microsoft Project); identify errors- unrealistic logical connections among the tasks and improper resource allocation

Receive and review contractor|s QC and QVE declarations and submissions

Review contractor`s concrete and asphalt mix design for approval

Inspect sampling procedure and verify that test methods follow specifications; review and analyze test results- determine deficiencies and provide reports to CA

Inspect Contractor`s field tests- ensure quality concrete supply- provide permission for concrete placement and ensure that the approved curing method is implemented

Identify and issue construction QC Deviations

Prepare comments in support of contractor rating

Prepare contractor payment statements including quantity calculations- drawings/sketches to substantiate payments to the contractor

Become trained in- and use a Nuclear Density Gauge for compaction testing

Transport material samples from project site to area laboratory

Minimum Requirements

OACETT rcsi or PEO EIT designation

5+ years of experience

Minimum 3 projects` experience as either structure- grade- or asphalt inspector

Must possess a valid driver|s license
