Job Summary
The Water Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented Senior
Municipal Designer/CAD Technologist to join our Whitby- Ontario office
location immediately. This is a great opportunity for individuals who like to
collaboratively deliver successful projects and who have potential ambitions
to grow their career beyond strictly design-based duties.
The responsibilities of this position include- but are not limited to:
Drafting and design of various civil- road and municipal infrastructure projects
Occasional site inspection and field assignments
Design calculations and peer review of drawings by more junior staff

Specification writing

Quantity take-off calculations

Liaise/coordinate with other disciplines in the preparation of design drawings and tender documents for multi-disciplinary projects

Minimum Requirements

Diploma and/or Bachelor`s degree in Civil Engineering

6+ years of related experience with civil /municipal projects

Proficient working knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil-3D

Understanding of engineering surveys and drawings

Sound working ability with MS Office

Valid driver`s license required for this position

Preferred Qualifications

CET and/or P.Eng. designation

10+years of civil /municipal project experience- preferably in Ontario

Excellent time management- interpersonal- written and verbal communication skills

Experience with Bentley Microstation and InRoads software

Ability to learn quickly- and communicate effectively

Specification writing experience

Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Bridge Designer/EIT
for employment in the Richmond Hill- ON office. Individual will be in charge
of performing transportation structural design and detailing for the Raleigh
Bridge Team. Areas of experience include: bridge design- plans preparation-
and bridge inspection. A qualified candidate should also have experience with
or the ability to learn Mathcad- Bentley Microstation- and structural analysis
software packages.

Under the responsible charge of a Professional Engineer:

Undertake basic structural analysis- calculations and prepare design sketches and drawings for design of new bridges.

Conduct engineering assessment and basic structural evaluations of the existing structures.

Work with technical staff in preparation of structural design drawings and specifications.

Limited exercise of judgment is required on details of work and in making preliminary selections of engineering alternatives.

Assist in preparation of construction cost estimates.

Prepare basic reports and assist in preparation of design packages for multi-disciplinary projects.

Assist in preparation of proposals for potential design assignments.

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor`s degree in Civil Engineering- Structural Engineering or other related field required

Capable of using spreadsheet- word processing and standard office software

Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as CADD- HCS- AutoCAD- MicroStation- GIS- Hydrologic/Hydraulic models)

Ability to show attention to detail and perform quality work

Ability to perform work in the field safely and effectively

Strong desire to learn

Ability to work with various multi-disciplined teams

Ability to show attention to detail and perform quality work

Experience developing structure design plans

Experience using AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications

Bridge inspection experience

Strong verbal and written communications skills
