Responsibilities

Civil and Municipal design for rail projects including freight- passenger- commuter- and light rail;

Design for grading & drainage- Utility protection and/or relocation- roads- parking lots- and staging design;

Prepare drawings and quantity take-off|s;

Design of of track and railway infrastructure in accordance with applicable regulations- laws- standards- etc. Typically used standards include AREMA- TCRP- CN- CP- & EN.

Producing and checking a wide variety of track designs- grading models- DTM surface and applicable details;

Being able to work with LIDAR point clouds- manage- verify and control surveys and geographic data for design needs;

Utilize and maintain technical databases and file structures within project files;

Work with tight schedules- be flexible- and contribute in a high performing design team;

Proposal and Project assignments may include Commuter- Subway- Light Rail- Heavy Rail- Transit Storage and Maintenance Facilitates- & Inter-modal terminals.

Minimum Requirements

BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of working with Autodesk AutoCAD;

Civil Engineer/EIT with previous experience in Track design and must have or the ability to obtain a P.Eng in the province of Ontario and a University degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent);

Previous experience in light rail and passenger transit projects such a Design-Build and P3/AFP;

Experience in track construction- including construction methodologies- destressing- surfacing- lining- etc.

Experience in delivering projects using BIM methods and technology driven solutions.

Skilled in technical writing- communicating and presenting; and the Ability to work with minimal supervision.

AECOM is seeking a Construction Manager (Fuel Channel) – Nuclear to be based
at our Kincardine- ON location. An ideal candidate must be local or willing to
relocate to the area. A Travel and Living out Allowance may be provided. In

ABOUT US:

The Shoreline Power Group is a Joint Venture of Aecon- AECOM and SNC-Lavalin.
Shoreline Power Group will be completing the Fuel Channel and Feeder
Replacement (FCFR) project. The joint venture has been awarded a contract by
Bruce Power to execute the Unit 6 FCFR at the Bruce Nuclear Generating Station
in Kincardine- Ontario.

This project is part of Bruce Power`s Life Extension Program- which will allow
Bruce Power`s CANDU units to continue to operate safely through to 2064- the
project is the centrepiece of the Major Component Replacement (MCR) program to
replace the main components of the reactor. Unit 6 is the first of six
reactors being replaced by Bruce Power through the MCR program.

The scope of work includes the removal and replacement of calandria tubes-
pressure tubes- and feeders for Unit 6- as well as construction management and
trade labour. Work is scheduled to commence in June 2020- with expected
completion in the third quarter of 2022.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

The Construction Manager will direct and be accountable for all pre-execution
planning activities to ensure all necessary construction packages have been
readied and available for use. The Construction Manager will be responsible
for all site execution matters- including direct-hire and subcontracted labour
supervision- safe and timely performance of the work- and ensuring quality
standards are upheld.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and staff a construction team made of experienced and capable supervisory personnel

Liaise with engineering staff to ensure integration of all tooling designs

Develop hiring plan

Work with the Labour Relations Manager to ensure labour relations issues are pro-actively managed

Responsible for all site execution matters- including the timely performance of the work

Accountable for all site safety and human performance metrics- and for collaborating with the project EHS Manager & HU Manager

Preparation of project models in Civil 3D for use in Revit

Material take offs and drafting related calculations

Utilizing Quality Management systems

Participation in design meetings

Minimum Requirements

Technology Diploma from a relevant discipline area

Min 4+ years of experience- including 2+ years of retail/commercial experience

Demonstrated experience setting up 3D models in Autodesk Civil 3D

Working knowledge of the by-laws and zoning of at least one municipality as they relate to retail site layouts

A well-organized and a self-directed person who can meet deadlines while working on multiple overlapping projects

The analytical- technical and problem-solving skills combined with the creativity: to design at a conceptual and detailed level; to quickly identify issues with proposed development sites; to assimilate multiple and often conflicting design criteria into creative site layout solutions; and to identify the positive and negative aspects of proposed layouts

Preferred Qualifications

6+ years of experience- including 4+ years of retail/commercial experience

Experience with AUTOTurn- BIM and Revit

Experience with detailed Civil design: grading- storm system- sanitary- etc.

Familiarity with TAC principles and guidelines as they relate to retail developments

Working knowledge of municipal by-laws and zoning of in Ontario- Alberta- Manitoba- Saskatchewan and British Columbia as they relate to retail site layouts

Experience working with greenfield and rehabilitation sites

The successful candidate will:

Communicate with team leaders from various design disciplines for consistent BIM/Technology implementation and execution for coordinated project delivery.

Engage with clients to understand individual project needs for innovation and digitalization.

Collaborate and coordinate efforts of multi-discipline teams across various offices in multiple cities.

Develop BIM/Technology implementation and execution plans- marketing materials- and project qualifications statements.

Develop and deliver customized training to various design disciplines.

Disseminate and support document control of standards- policies- guidelines and protocols related to BIM.

Incorporate an overall technology direction with digital strategy for implementation on Transportation Infrastructure projects.

Develop- coach and mentor discipline teams as necessary to support the implementation digital delivery plans of projects.

Assume project leadership roles- as applicable- with responsibilities to deliver projects on time and on budget.

Work independently and manage multiple tasks with varying deadlines.

Able to develop and leverage relationships with vendors and suppliers to maintain knowledge and expertise of new technologies and their application to AECOM projects.

Manage relationship with key partners including vendors and suppliers

Build a culture of collaboration with peers and partners.

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor|s degree or equivalent education and relevant work experience

10+ years of experience in a similar field and role within the Transportation Infrastructure industry

Understanding of the practice of architecture- engineering and construction

Experience in working with multi-discipline teams of professionals and in managing teams of professionals in a small-to-large project delivery environment.

Solid understanding of BIM standards (national and international)- guidelines and protocols

Mastery of Autodesk Revit- Navisworks- and AutoCAD and Microstation- Civil 3D

Proficiency with Dynamo visual scripting tool

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs- specifically Access- Excel- Project- and Word

Proficiency with C4R- BIM 360 Glue- Infraworks- Dynamo- etc.

Experience with ReCap 360 and point-cloud based modeling

Proven experience in successfully applying digital technologies / solutions to a very traditional working environment

Knowledge of contractual delivery methods

Proven technical experience demonstrating client engagement skills resulting in solutions developed through strategic interactions
